According to new rumors, a new South Park video game may be currently in development. To reveal it would be a tweet from Jason Schreier, a Bloomberg reporter focused on a report on a new company founded by creators of the South Park series Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The reporter claims that the two use the associated money to invest in various projects, including a video game.
South Park: is a new video game coming?
In the report, Schereir explains that this new company was formed to finance several projects, including films for the Paramount Plus streaming service, and the new South Park video game. At the moment, this is the first ever confirmation we have of a new South Park game in active development.
As Schreier points out, this new chapter based on the irreverent franchise may not be released by Ubisoft. For those who do not know, in fact, South Park: The Stick of Truth e South Park: The Fractured But Whole were released by Ubisoft in 2014 and 2017 respectively. The first game was developed in collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment and South Park Digital Studios, while the second was developed between South Park Digital Studios and Ubisoft’s in-house game development studios. .
All we know right now about South Park’s next game is that it should arrive soon and that it will be overseen by the same creative duo as above. Unfortunately, we have no idea who the publisher of the title is, let alone which studio is developing this new adventure. That said, we find it pretty safe to say that South Park Digital Studios may be involved again.
Given that this new video game shouldn’t be long in coming, it is likely that an official announcement is upon us.
