According to the latest rumors, it seems that Marvel Studios and Sony have very different ideas about who should direct the next Spider-Man 4. The film’s delays have allowed insiders to start sharing rumors that worry many fans, including the recent statements according to which Marvel and Sony would have conflicting visions for both the release date and the creative direction of the sequel about Spider-Man.
In particular, it would appear that Sony is eager to bring Spider-Man 4 to theaters as soon as possible, and is currently aiming for a release date already set for June 25, 2025, a slot that has actually had the wording ‘Untitled Spider-Man film’ on the studio’s calendar for some time now. However, on the other hand, i Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige slow down: for the Disney production company, which co-produces the Spider-Man films in the MCU, 2025 would be too crowded a year. Spider-Man 4: who will be the director?

For his part, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige wants someone else, presumably Drew Goddard, and would like Watts to work on other MCU projects.
