Star Wars Eclipse seems like a truly immense project, in fact according to Tom Henderson the release date of the game will be quite far
The announcement of Star Wars Eclipse at The Game Awards 2021, followed with an impactful cinematic trailer, immediately made it a title much anticipated by all Star Wars fans who are eagerly awaiting the release date. Although Quantic Dream later announced that Star Wars Eclipse is still in the early stages of development, based on some unofficial information shared by well-known leaker Tom Henderson, it seems that the release date could even be in about five or six years. Tom Henderson, in a recent video, said, based on some information gleaned from former Quantic Dream developers, that the studio has problems with the graphics engine and for this reason the development of the game could drastically slow down.
The Star Wars Eclipse release date is quite far away
Tom Henderson, in addition to indications on the possible release date of Star Wars Eclipse, added that by accepting the acquisition by Tencent, Quantic Dream itself hoped to get more resources, thus expanding the studio’s hardware capabilities and probably build a brand new engine. As Henderson says, a current developer of Quantic Dream has suggested that the studio could be fully acquired in the near future if it fails to gather the resources it needs to complete Star Wars Eclipse and beyond.
All in all, Henderson says the game probably needs at least five years of development, which means it will indicatively come out. in late 2026 or early 2027. That said, we remind you that all the information declared by the leaker is not official and things could go differently, with a reduced development period. However, it turns out Star Wars Eclipse unlikely to come out before 2025 unless content is cut massively.
