The rumors had it confirmed for a few hours already, but in the end it was Sony itself that officially announced the first State of Play of this year. Through a post on the PlayStation Blog, which you can reach by clicking here, the company has in fact announced that the first major event for PlayStation 5 will start at 11pm (Italian time) next Wednesday 31 January on the official YouTube, Twitch and TikTok channels. The duration will be 40 minutes and will include 15 different games coming to the platform.

The State of Play for January 2024 has been confirmed: date, time and predictions!
The two confirmed titles that will be present at the State of Play on Wednesday 31st are Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. In fact, we read in the blog post:
Among other updates, we’ll offer an overview of Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, two big games coming to PS5 this year. Plus, we’ll take a look at other titles coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond.
And so the “toto-State-of-Play” has obviously begun, with the Internet speculating on which game will or will not be present among the fifteen mentioned. Among many, in our opinion (and also according to Nick Baker of XboxEra, apparently) we could find Death Stranding 2 and Silent Hill 2, which have now remained on the sidelines for a long time. Considering that PlayStation’s last State of Play was in October 2023 and the big protagonists were Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Foamstars and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we cannot expect a lower level.
