Announced via the company’s official channels, the new State of Play of March 2022 promises a focus on Japanese publishers who collaborate with Sony
In the last two months, the Sony home platforms have been enriched with prestigious and highly anticipated exclusives such as Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, but the rumor of a new State of Play dedicated to PS4 and PS5 was already in the wind. In February we had an event completely dedicated to the new chapter of the Polyphony Digital franchise, which was actually in the pipeline (pun intended). And in the past few hours, finally, Sony has officially announced the date for a new State of Play and, of course, always does it at the latest.
The date is that of March 9, tomorrow to be exact, and the show will start at 11pm Italian time. The presentation will last approximately 20 minutes, as is now the practice for these “flash” events and will focus almost entirely, as announced by Sony, on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles published by Japanese publishers. State of Play March 2022: what to expect?
What to Expect? Given the recent postponement of Forspoken, it is quite likely that some new unreleased material will still be shown, as we expect the presence of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fanasy Origin, whose release date is practically imminent. Staying on the Square Enix theme, it now seems almost ironic to say it, but we would really like to have some updates on the fugitive Final Fantasy XVI. And given the recent rumors that Sony was acquiring an important IP from Konami… who knows!
