In this article we therefore want to see what the announcements were at the PlayStation State of Play of September 2023 held last night, September 14th. Although when announcing the event Sony had stated that it would be a conference concerning only indie and third-party titles, the protagonists were also some trailers of PlayStation Studios titles. We don’t know why, but our expectations were decidedly lower than what, in the end, we received as a show. Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch and Bennet Foddy, Baby Steps it’s a sort of rage game in which the most difficult thing you will have to do is also what we human beings do every day without even realizing it: walking. Nate is an unemployed failure who seems to get nothing out of life, until one day he discovers he has an amazing power: putting one foot in front of the other. Bahy Steps will be a completely physics-based game in which we will have to explore the world, climb mountains, meet strange characters and fall in love with our surroundings while looking for meaning in our lives. Expected release: summer 2024.

We also got our first look at the PSVR2 title Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. Developed by nDreams, the title will allow you to use a long list of gadgets and objects for catching ghosts. Great evening also for Resident Evil 4 Remake, which arrives in a version programmed for Virtual Reality on PSVR2 as free DLC, but not only! Small hardware interlude for the presentation of the three new coordinated metallic colors of PS5 and DualSense. The Deep Earth Collection, this is the name of the new range, will be available from the end of this year and will include the colours Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue e Sterling Silver. And silver is really cool, we admit. Pre-orders will be available from October 4th. The Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue variants will be available from November 3, while the Sterling Silver from January 26, 2024.

The gameplay showed an intense boss fight against a rather large and equally tough enemy, named Bile Titan. The bad news is the postponement of the release date: February 8, 2024. But we know how to wait.

Another round, another very famous Sony “third party”: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 returned to be seen with a trailer also on the stage of last night’s PlayStation State of Play. Insomniac Games has in fact shown new video material in which the director, Bryan Intihar, has shown new details on the new New York of this sequel, with new locations, updated exploration, the possibility of changing protagonist practically immediately, new enemies, abilities and gadgets and much more. The thing that actually interests us the most, and also the one on which the trailer placed the most focus, is the presence of 65 new costumes for our protagonists. Fanservice up to a new level! Release date: October 20, 2023. We’re here now!

Considered one of the best JRPGs of recent years, Arise is the seventeenth (!) iteration of the Bandai Namco franchise which we talked about extensively in a dedicated review at the time of its release. Find everything here. The DLC will serve as a direct sequel and will feature a girl called Nazamil, the daughter of a Lord who got in our way during the main plot of Arise. We won’t tell you anything else to avoid spoilers. Get ready for new dungeons, new missions, improved cutscenes and… of course lots of new costumes. They couldn’t miss it. The DLC will obviously be available for all platforms on which the game is available: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. Release date: December 9, 2023.

Square Enix takes the stage with Foamstars by announcing an Open beta to test the capacity of the servers before the game’s release. The Beta will offer two 4v4 game modes, eight different characters, many unique weapons and abilities. Foam will be your main weapon, but you will also have to build to block and outclass your opponents and achieve victory. The Open Beta starts on September 29th and ends on October 1st, available exclusively on PS5. You don’t need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to play the Beta.
