During the Summer Game Fest 2021 last night, Salt and Sacrifice was also announced, the new title of Ska Studio direct sequel to Salt and Sanctuary
We know it very well: you remember Salt and Sanctuary mainly for the unforgettable and hilarious Italian location. The 2D action RPG by Ska Studio, however, brought a breath of quality and novelty to the indie videogame panorama to make it almost a great classic for fans of the genre. A rather difficult souls-like in several places, with a lot of backtracking and metroidvania mechanics, terrifying bosses and an intriguing and elegant look and feel. In short, the fans of Salt and Sanctuary were waiting in a corner for a sequel that was hard to be announced, at least until last night.
During the Summer Game Fest 2021, which was held last night at the opening of E3 2021, Sony PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida announced the arrival of this elusive sequel. The title will be Salt and Sacrifice and will have the same aesthetic and graphic style, but it will offer an even greater challenge. On the occasion, a first announcement trailer was also shown, which we leave you right below.
Salt and Sacrifice is shown at the Summer Game Fest 2021 with an announcement trailer
The most interesting addition to Salt and Sacrifice over its prequel is the ability to play the entire experience in co-op. Furthermore, the game will take us into a new era and a new geographic region, putting us in the shoes of a Marked Inquisitor, a criminal who has been spared from the hands of justice, but who has been condemned to eternally fight against inhuman creatures. Salt and Sacrifice will be released in the course of 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
