The DCEU has come to an end and is ready to restart with the new DCU title, of which the first film will be Superman: Legacy which has already revealed the plot of the film, or at least a synopsis of what we will see with the new beginning of the universe DC movie
2023 is almost over and we begin to prepare for 2024, the year we finally production of Superman Legacy will begin and we finally know some details about the plot of the film thanks to a synopsis published by the director and head of the DCU, James Gunn, who recently confirmed the rumors about the casting of Nicholas Hoult for the role of the villain Lex Luthor. Until now James Gunn had only told us that we would see a completely different Superman than Henry Cavill and the choice of the new actor David Corenswet for the role of Clark Kent is proof of the director’s change of direction.
Superman: Legacy, the plot and the first details on the film
James Gunn hasn’t revealed much about the plot, obviously so as not to spoil the film. However, we have a general idea of what we can expect from Superman: Legacy. Here is the synopsis:
Superman, a young reporter from Metropolis, embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.
From this synopsis, we can deduce that it will be a personal story, where Clark will have to find the right balance between his Kryptonian nature and his life as an Earthling. This is an origin story, in which Clark will understand the difficulties he will have when he agrees to use his powers to defend the Earth and at the same time hide his true identity. A very interesting premise, we have never had the opportunity to see the human side of Superman and it seems that it will be central to the film. Production, as we have already said, will begin on March 4, 2024 and it will be a long job, in fact the release date is set for on July 11, 2025. Remember, however, that the new DCU will begin end of 2024 with the TV series Creature Commandos.
In the cast we find David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner/Green Lantern), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) and María Gabriela De Faría (The Engineer). After Superman: Legacy, we will also have the new one Batman in The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow and The Authority. What do you think?
