Suzuki e SkyDrive have entered into a production cooperation contract for the production of “SKYDRIVE (type SD-05)” at a Suzuki Group-owned factory in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, through subsidiary SkyDriv, and Sky Works Inc. in October 2023, and have since been collaborating to start production of flying cars.

On March 6, a ceremony was held for the laying of the first rivet to wish the safe operation of the plant, in the presence of all the employees of Sky Works, along with SkyDrive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa, Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki and staff from both companies. In addition to the aircraft that will be used at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, this facility will produce aircraft for sale to customers.

This project is part of Suzuki’s initiatives to achieve the carbon neutrality by 2030, thus demonstrating its tangible and concrete commitment to a sustainable future.

Suzuki has defined the Environmental Plan “Suzuki Envroimental Vision 2050”. This is a long-term strategy presented by Toshihiro Suzuki, Presidente di Suzuki Motor Corp.in February 2021. Within this project, Suzuki exposes a five-year plan (from April 2021 to March 2026) called “Sho-Sho-Kei-Tan-Bi”.
