TCL works on a foldable smartphone that slides out of the case
Foldable display technology is actively developing and the market has already created a well-anticipated segment for this type of device. However, something could upset the cards on the table. As reported by gizchina, TCL would be working on a foldable smartphone whose display can be extended as needed. A technology that we had actually already seen with Oppo, but which in this case is applied to folding devices.
The new device was shown publicly during the DTC 2021, an event that took place in China a few days ago. During the fair TCL presented the new Fold’n’Roll: one foldable smartphone with extendable display. This can be extended according to the user’s needs, to have a larger screen available. For now, however, more than the launch of the device, the brand seems to have wanted show the technology alone. According to gizchina, in fact, the mass production of such a device is currently extremely complex (and expensive). That simple leaflets are already the past? Could this be the smartphone of the future?
