TCL does things big a IFA 2023: entering the large hall set up by the brand we are immediately faced with very large TVs, with three 98-inch MiniLED screens and one 115-inch one (which for the moment is not on the market, but which seems ready for a debut in the near future) . And then the Italian manager Nicola Micali showed us a new 98-inch QLED TV which will arrive in Italy in the coming weeks, at the unbeatable price of 2499 euro. The type of screen on which we will be able to see the Italian national team play at the next European Championship, now that TCL is the official sponsor of the Azzurri.
But in addition to these colossal TVs, we have discovered many other innovations that TCL plans to launch in the coming weeks and months, from household appliances to air conditioners. And which, together with the recent announcement of the NXTPAPER 40 series smartphones, underline how the brand is continuing to grow in Europe and Italy.
TCL at IFA 2023 shows its great ambitions: huge TVs and more
As soon as we enter the large hall that TCL has set up in Berlin, our gaze immediately lingers on the large TVs that demonstrate the excellent work that the company is doing on Mini-LED technology. The new 98-inch C805 represents the new absolute top of the range that the company presents on the Italian market. And even in the light-filled environment of the trade fair, the strong contrast and the brightness of 1300 candelas per square meter stand out positively.
Alongside we also find theX955 and C955incredibly bright. The X955 goes up to 5000 nits in HDR, so much so that Micali jokes that we could get a tan standing in front of it. But these two new models will not arrive in our country.
Not yet ready for the market too the huge 115 inch mini LED TV presented by the company in Berlin, which does not yet have a name. But which has the same peak brightness as the X955 and all the features of the brand’s top of the range, from Onkyo’s Dolby Atmos system to the 144Hz refresh rate, up to Google TV. In short, a product that does not yet have a name and launch date, but which could have them soon: it is not an unfeasible prototypebut a possible future for TCL.
A 98-inch TV for only 2,499 euros
A novelty not on public display, but present behind the scenes at IFA Berlin is the new 98-inch QLED TV with a price that is difficult to beat: 2,499 euros. Micali explains that it will arrive in Italy shortly and will allow a greater number of enthusiasts to buy large TVs, with its very competitive price.
The 98-inch P745 model has a simple but well-finished design, with the sobriety that TCL has accustomed us to. Next to a TV of the same size but with Mini-LED technology, we can see that the blacks are not as deep. But the quality seems to us quite good, especially since it has all the features you need: From Google TV with Chromecast built-in to Onkyo audio.
With the TCL team, we reflected on the fact that it would be perfect for watching the matches of the Italian national team, with which the company has signed a partnership agreement. Not only for inviting friends into the house, but also for restaurants and bars that want a large, complete and inexpensive solution.
Not just TVs
I TVs remain the bread and butter for TCL, which has developed a huge market in Asia and America, but which is increasingly finding space in Europe as well. Also thanks to sporting partnerships such as the one with our national team.
But in addition to TVs, we found many other solutions at the brand’s Berlin stand. Like the air conditioners, which from TCL they tell us are increasingly successful. But the world of cleaning is also finding space, with washers and dryers really interesting.
And then there are other categories that really interest us, even if they are not ready for the Italian market. Like the monitor da gamingwhich with an attractive design and a complete lineup, seem to have the video quality suitable to win the hearts of various gamers, when they arrive in Italy too.
But already available are the TV with advanced gaming modes, from 144Hz but reaching up to 240Hz if necessary, which instead will arrive on the Italian market. And with prices, once again, really hard to beat.
