It’s official: the tests for the 6Gwhich seems to guarantee one faster browsing speed. In addition to a full-blown continuity between the real and digital world, actually facilitating access to the metaverse. But let’s find out something more.
6G: the tests on the new standard have officially started
The start of 6G tests show that something is changing in the technology sector and beyond. The new navigation technology, in fact, seems to ensure the transition from the “giga” to “tera” economygiven that we are talking about a speed of 1 terabyte per second. But that’s not the only novelty, as it looks like 6G will also feature lower latency and improved reliability. In any case, to verify that everything is really as announced we should wait for the 2029when the new technology will be officially commercialized.
Although the date is far away, in these days the first tests on the 6G have already begun. LGin collaboration with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics, has achieved a very important goal. The company has in fact demonstrated that it can transmit data in one band between 155 and 175 GHz at a distance up to 320 meters in an open space. An important step towards the adoption of 6G technology, even if we know that this will only become a standard in many years. But what intrigues us is above all the application of 6G, which seems to pave the way for the technology of holograms.
Green light therefore, to the continuity between real and digital world, with a notable improvement of projects in the metaverse. Or in medicine. In short, the possibilities that 6G technology will offer will be many. And Italy will make its contribution to this evolution thanks to the work of bodies and organizations such as TIMil Polytechnic of Turin and theUniversity of Pisato name a few.
