Sound! Euphonium 3, the third season of the anime, will be released on April 7 and will air on NHK Educational on Sundays at 5pm JST. The anime will have a total of 13 episodes. The first two episodes of the anime will be screened in Tokyo on March 16 and in Kyoto on March 17. The anime will adapt Kumiko’s third year of high school. To join the cast of Sound! Euphonium 3 will be there Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna in Sword Art Online) as Mayu Kuroe. For the occasion Kyoto Animation is also streaming a video of the Kumiko characters.
Sound! Euphonium 3: what we know about the third season of the upcoming anime
Sound! Euphonium is a series of Japanese novels by Ayano Takeda, published by Takarajimasha since December 5, 2013. The story tells the story of the Kitauji High School’s music club, which steadily improves thanks to the rigorous instruction of its new counselor. An anime adaptation for television, produced by Kyoto Animation, was broadcast in Japan in two seasons between April 7, 2015 and December 28, 2016. A recap animated film, Gekijō-ban Hibike! Euphonium: Kitauji Kōkō Suisōgaku-Bu and Yōkoso, debuted in Japanese theaters on April 23, 2016. On April 21, 2018, Liz to aoi tori, another film based on the work, was released.
The author of the original light novel Ayano Takeda has published the story of Kumiko’s third year of high school in two volumes. The first volume was published in April 2019 and the second in June of the same year. In the novels, the band once again focuses on winning gold at Nationals. Kumiko is the new leader of the group, with her ex-boyfriend Shuuichi Tsukamaoto as vice president and Reina Kousaka as drummer. Like the previous year, the new first year members enter the band with their own peculiarities, first of all Maya Kuroe, euphonium player from Seira Girls School.
