Hayao Miyazaki’s latest animated film, The Boy and the Heron is preparing to debut outside its homeland, for the occasion a new trailer has been prepared with still unpublished images which in Italy will be presented at the Rome Film Festival, in the Alice nella Città exhibition
Thanks to the French distributor Wild Bunch you can take a look at the new images of the work. The new film in question will be released in Italian cinemas on January 1, 2024. The Boy and the Heron was presented in Japanese cinemas as early as July 14th and conquered the box office already from the first weekend, grossing 11.3 million dollars and beating the previous records of Studio Ghibli. In any case, the film’s success is only just beginning, as it is still relegated to its homeland. In view of the international release, a final trailer has been released in which we can admire the visual style that characterizes Ghibli productions and the premises of the narrative.

The film debuted at the Toronto Film festival with the international title The Boy and the Heron and will be released in US cinemas on December 8, the work will soon arrive overseas.

The film even received compliments from filmmakers unfamiliar with the genre such as Guillermo del Toro who was greatly impressed by it.
