According to a new rumor about the DCU world, Andy Muschietti will no longer be the director of Batman the Brave and the Bold
Months ago it was confirmed that James Gunn had commissioned Andy Muschietti to make the new Batman film, part of the brand new DC Universe, but according to the latest rumors about the film, it seems that Andy Muschietti would no longer be part of the project. The main problem seems to be that Muschietti directed The Falsh, but the film didn’t perform as well as hoped. In fact, the film was a flop at the box office and both audiences and critics ridiculed it upon release. However, Gunn had signed Muschietti long before The Flash came out, which is why he now finds himself in a somewhat difficult position. It seems that the director was politely fired for a purely image-related issue of Gunn and company. In fact, if you want to make the public forget the recent disasters of the previous DCEU, it is not a good move to hire the director of The Flash.
The Brave and the Bold, who will replace Muschietti?
The Brave and The Bold is the third DCU film to feature a director. In fact, Gunn himself will direct Superman Legacy, while James Mangold is at the helm of Swamp Thing. We know very little about the plot of The Brave and the Bold, but it appears that the plot will follow Batman as he learns to live with his biological son, Damian Wayne, who then takes on the identity of Robin. We don’t know who will replace Muschietti, nor if the film will be postponed to a later date. Although the latter solution would be a pretty smart move on Gunn’s part. Even considering there’s another Batman franchise in the works at the moment.
