Surprisingly, though, based on the latest rumor, it would appear that fans of the series may still have a major new release to look forward to in the relatively near future. The leak comes from a user of Reddit who claims to be a former employee of the Virtuos studio in Paris. According to the leak, virtuoso has in the pipeline a remaster/remake di The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion which will presumably use “a coupling system”, meaning it will combine the engine and codebase of the original game (including physics and game systems) but render new images through a pipeline Unreal Engine 5. The leaker claims that Virtuos has not yet concretely decided whether the project, which would be codenamed AltarIt will be a remaster or a real one remake. Depending on what that turns out to be, the game could launch at the end of 2024 or early 2025. Apparently, the study Black Shamrockowned by Virtuos, will also handle the graphics of the game. Of course, as is the case with any such leak, it’s best to take it all in with a good pair of pliers, at least until we hear official news from Microsoft or Bethesda.
