Fallout: trailer and release date of the series inspired by the video game franchise

The trailer, which you can watch at this link, introduces us to the protagonist Lucy (played by Ella Purnell). This is a girl who lives in Vault 33, an underground shelter where the survivors of the catastrophe have taken refuge. Lucy decides to leave the Vault and explore the surface, where she finds Los Angeles in ruins and full of danger. Lucy will have to face the challenges of a life in a hostile world, among bandits, monsters and warring factions.

It is good to remember that the series is not based on any of the chapters of the video game saga, but is freely inspired by its universe and its distinctive elements. In the trailer, in fact, we can see several references to video games, such as the Bobblehead di Vault Boy (the series’ mascot) the Brotherhood of Steel and some mutant creatures. The executive producer of the series, Jonathan Nolandefined the show as “a non-interactive version” of Fallout 5the next chapter in the series, still in development by Bethesda.

The official synopsis of the series reads:

Based on one of the most important video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of the haves and have-nots in a world where there is almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the inhabitants of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the hellish radioactive environment their ancestors left behind. What they discover on their way out leaves them shocked: they find an incredibly complex, ridiculously strange and highly violent universe awaiting them.

All episodes of the Fallout TV series will be available for streaming on Prime Video from April 11th.
