These days the Instagram App is working on a function that will allow users to put in highlight the posts on your profile. At the moment, this is an option in the testing phase, reserved for a small number of selected users. But it is undeniable that in the future the platform may choose to make it available globally. In the meantime, let’s see what it is.
Instagram: App tests the possibility of highlighting posts from an account
“We are testing a new feature that pushes people to share posts on their profile,” said a spokesperson for Meta regarding the news being tested on the platform. These days, in fact, the selected users have the possibility to highlight posts on their profile. A useful option for all those who want to recover a finished post in the most forgotten part of the Feed, as well as for creators who publish frequently and want to always make an important post visible. In this way, the function is added to the one that allows you to highlight the Stories, thus expanding the user experience on the App.
Apparently, the option had already been planned for some time, as demonstrated by the indiscretion shared by Alessandro Paluzzi months ago. But the platform has only chosen to test it now, just a week after announcing it is looking to remove the “Recent” tab on hashtag pages. This decision may depend on the willingness of promote the Reels format, direct competitor of TikTok, given that users will be directed to the “Top” and “Reels” tabs of the same hashtag pages. The decision to test the possibility of highlighting posts on users’ profiles also goes in this direction. But, on the other hand, we already knew that the Instagram App would go in this direction.
