Preparations begin for the fifth edition of First Playablethe business event dedicated to the development of video games in Italy, which this year will be held in Florence on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 July 2023. The event is organized and promoted by IDEA – the trade association – together with Toscana Film Commission – Tuscany System Foundation in collaboration with theICE agency.
This is the first time for First Playable in Florence, given that the event took place in Pisa for two years (2019 and 2020 and for the following two years it was held in digital form. Specifically, the two-day event will be hosted by Nana Biancastartup studio and vertical accelerator in the digital sector, inside the Innovation Center of the CR Firenze Foundation, in the middle of the San Frediano district.
The First Playable 2023 schedule
In line with the spirit of the previous editions, First Playable aims to foster cooperation between the various points of the gaming market network. From the small Italian developer to the international publisher, the event helps to weave relationships and connections to help the entire sector. Sessions will be held over the two days coaching, talks and workshops and 1:1 meetings with publishers and investors from all over the world.
In addition to this, the prizes of the eleventh edition of the Italian Video Games Awards will be awarded. On Thursday 6 July, an international jury made up of industry experts will decide the winners in the 5 award categories:
- Best Italian Game: awarded to the best Italian video game
- Best Italian Debut Game: award for the best Italian debut film
- Best Innovation: for the most innovative Italian video game
- Outstanding Individual Contribution: recognition to the single Italian professional who has most distinguished himself at national and/or international level
- Outstanding Italian Company: prize for the Italian development studio that has most distinguished itself at a national and/or international level
