I primi benchmark di iPhone 13 Pro mostrano tutta la sua potenza thumbnail

The first benchmarks of the iPhone 13 Pro show its full power

Just two days after the announcement of the new ones iPhone 13 from Apple, the first Geekbench result has already emerged. In fact, someone has tested the performance of the GPU of the iPhone 13 Pro and there is a significant increase in performance compared to the previous generation iPhone 12 Pro.

The first benchmark of the iPhone 13 Pro shows its incredible performance

The “iPhone 13 Pro”, or “iPhone14.2”, achieved a Metal score of 14216, an increase of 55% over the Metal score of 9123 obtained by the iPhone 12 Pro‌.

Apple’s iPhone 13‌ models are equipped with a chip A15 con 6 core, including two cores for performance and four cores for efficiency. Both iPhone 13‌ and iPhone 13 Pro‌ devices have the same CPU, but there are differences when it comes to GPUs. iPhone 13‌ and 13 mini are equipped with a 4-core GPU, while The high-end ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ Max have a 5-core GPU.

Apple has called the A15 chip with the 5-core GPU in the Pro models the “fastest smartphone chip in the world” and claims that it offers “graphics performance up to 50% faster than any other smartphone chip”. Given the demonstrated difference in Metal scores, this appears to be accurate, with the A15 in Pro models outperforming the A14. The benchmark also confirms that the Pro models have 6 GB of RAM as already seen in Xcode. The iPhone 13‌ and 13 mini have 4GB of RAM instead.

No one has tested any of the standard ‌iPhone 13‌ models yet, so we don’t know how they compare to the previous generation A14, nor do we have a CPU benchmark to compare CPU performance between the A14 and A15. Apple has said little about the A15’s CPU and, rather than comparing it to the A14, has instead pointed out that it is “up to 50% faster” than the competition.

L’iPad mini it has the same A15 chip with 5-core GPU as the ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ models, so we can expect the same graphics performance from Apple’s updated tablet.

With the iPhone 13‌ line launching next week and soon in the hands of reviewers, we won’t have to wait too long to get further benchmarks of the A15 that will give us more insight into its overall performance. The new iPhones will be available for pre-order on Friday 17 September at 2pm, and available for purchase from 24 September.
