During the D23 Expo, the release date of The Haunted House on Disney+ was revealed: let’s find out when the horror comedy from the stellar cast will be available in streaming
The Haunted Mansion has been brought to the big screen famous attraction of the Disney theme parks, however obtaining a rather disappointing result at the box office. However, during the D23 Expo, the Studios announced that the feature film will be available for streaming on Disney+ starting from October 4, 2023. A rather close date compared to the debut in cinemas, which took place on July 28th in the United States and August 23rd in Italy (together with Oppenheimer), which will try to revive the fortunes of the project in time for Halloween.

A retelling of the horror comedy of the same name starring Eddie Murphy, The Haunted Mansion follows the story of a single mother, Gabbie, and her son, who move into a dream house, paid for at a bargain price. Soon, however, the two protagonists will realize that the house is haunted by some bizarre ghosts, who wake up every day at midnight. To avoid being stuck in your home forever, Gabbie and her son then turn to a team of paranormal experts: a priest, a psychic, a former investigator and a history professor. The mission, however, will prove more difficult than expected. TO
bring this scary story to life we find a stellar cast made up of Rosario Dawson, Winona Ryder, Owen Wilson, Lakeith Stainfield, Danny De Vito, Tiffany Hiddish, Chase Dillon, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis e Jared Leto, interpreters respectively of the spirits Madame Leota and Alistair Crump / Ghost of the Hatbox, two of the most beloved characters of the Disneyland attraction. As mentioned, Disney decided to release the film via streaming in an attempt to make it a commercial success at least in the “domestic” context, as has already happened with other titles, for example the small cult of the horror comedy genre Hocus Pocus, which got a sequel approximately thirty years after its release.
