Let’s talk about The Killer, the film directed by David Fincher and starring Michael Fassbender which was presented as a world premiere in the official selection of the 2023 Venice Film Festival, and of which we show you the Italian trailer. The Killer is loosely based on the twelve-volume graphic novel by Luc Jacamon and Alexis Nolent “Le Tueur”, adapted for the big screen by Andrew Kevin Walker, the screenwriter of Seven.

After a tragic mission that almost fails, an assassin faces his masters and himself in an international manhunt that he believes isn’t personal at all: this is the synopsis of the film, which has been in the works for several years. Adapt the graphic novel written by Alexis Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamonin fact, was a project that David Fincher had been pursuing for almost 20 years. The film’s original music is by the duo Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (Boston – Manhunt, Bones and All, Empire of Light, Challengers). Reznor & Ross have already collaborated with director David Fincher on the music of The Social Network, which won the Oscar for best original soundtrack, Millennium, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and Mank. Michael Fassbender himself revealed that he loved playing the lead role in this film, stating
There is suspense and intrigue. A slow drip. I love that kind of movie. It’s just trying to understand the mind of a sociopath…I’m trying to piece together the lifespan, up to where the character is now.
