HBO Max has officially confirmed on its social channels that season 2 of The Last of Us is scheduled for release in two years, in 2025
The return of The Last of Us will necessarily have to wait a little longer than many fans hoped: HBO Max has in fact confirmed that the release of the second season will only arrive in 2025. Season 2 of The Last of Us will follow the conclusion of the first season and will be inspired by the events seen in Part II of the video game, allowing us to discover the next exciting experiences that await Ellie.
In fact, the streaming platform has unveiled a video in the last few hours trailer with all the TV shows coming over the next year: among these, the absence of the series with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey immediately stood out. A few moments later it arrived he confirms official via the company’s social channels. HBO has thus definitively announced that Season 2 of The Last of Us will arrive only in two years, without a more precise time window.

The news, to be honest, had been in the air for some time: in recent days it had in fact emerged that the start of filming would only begin next February in Canada. Moreover, the Hollywood strike of recent months had effectively blocked any possible start of production, making it extremely difficult for Season 2 to be released during 2024. And given that filming hasn’t even started yet, it is equally difficult to be able to establish with certainty a definitive time window, even if the production’s intention is certainly to be able to broadcast the first episode by the end of 2025.
