Like a bolt from the blue one has just arrived unfortunate news for all fans of the Zelda saga. The long-awaited sequel to Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was officially postponed. The official confirmation comes from the producer of the series Eiji Aonuma in a video announcing the postponed release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, still without an official title.

The exclusive game on Switch is now scheduled for spring of 2023. Here is what Aonuma said about the postponed release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2:
For anyone looking forward to playing the new Zelda this year, we apologize. As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not only on the ground as in the previous game, but also in the skies. However, the world has expanded considerably and there will be a huge variety of features for you to enjoy, including new encounters and unique gameplay elements. To make the experience of this title something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a little longer.
This communication certainly won’t make the fans who have been waiting for the sequel for many years happy. Aonuma’s announcement video though reserve some small surprises. In fact, in a small snippet of the new footage from the Breath of the Wild sequel, we have Link that he pulls out his Master Sword but looks different than usual. We just have to wait for new information about it to find out more.
