The Leonardo supercomputer was inaugurated in Bologna. It is the fourth most powerful in the world. This supercomputer is capable of carrying out a very high number of calculations per second and will “go into service” to support scientific research activities.

Leonardo is the fourth most powerful supercomputer in the world after the American Frontier, the Japanese Fugaku and the Finnish Lumi. Half of the total amount was financed by the European Union. The Ministry for University and Research, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) also contributed to the project.
