A free-to-play mobile game developed by EA and dedicated to the universe of The Lord of the Rings is coming. It will be called Lord of the Rings: Heroes Of Middle-Earth, and is described as a “collectible RPG”. The news comes directly from Electronic Arts, with a press release announcing a new partnership with Middle-Earth Enterprises. The result will therefore be a new video game, totally free, for mobile devices.
What do we know about EA’s new game dedicated to The Lord of the Rings
The press release reports that Lord of the Rings: Heroes Of Middle-Earth will have a “turn-based combat” system, featuring numerous characters from the literary works of JRR Tolkien. However, EA will not have access to the rights to the Lord of the Rings movie, and will therefore mainly refer to the books.
The press release reads:
“Lord of the Rings: Heroes Of Middle-Earth will feature immersive storytelling, turn-based combat, collection systems and an extensive roster of characters from the vast universe of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Players will relive the iconic stories of Tolkien’s world and fight against the great evils of Middle-earth ”.
