The Lord of the Rings trilogy returns to cinemas between late July and early August in 4k, in the remastered version by Peter Jackson
Twenty years have passed since the fantasy saga The Lord of the Rings revolutionized a certain way of making cinema, winning a place in the hearts of millions of fans. An anniversary that certainly could not go unnoticed. For the occasion, therefore, the trilogy back to the cinema in 4k, in the remastered version by Peter Jackson himself. After the release in America in February and in China in April, the saga will arrive in Italian cinemas in July, entering fully into the campaign that has been trying for some time to relaunch cinema even in summer, a period notoriously not prosperous for the big screen.
Here then is the calendar – awaiting official confirmation -:
from 22 to 26 July The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring;
from 27 to 30 July The Lord of the Rings: The two towers;
from July 31 to August 4 The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
The War of the Rohirrim animated prequel
The news was released after the announcement of another important novelty inherent in the saga: the creation of a animated movie prequel, in anime style, entitled The War Of The Rohirrim. The events of the film should be set about 250 years before the events narrated in The Fellowship of the Ring and among the consultants of the project figure Philippa Boyens, screenwriter of the main trilogy and winner of the Academy Award for the best non-original screenplay for The Return of the King.
The Middle Earth is ready to conquer the big screen again. An unmissable opportunity for both historical fans of the saga and for young fans, who will now be able to experience the adventures of Frodo and his companions in the hall for the first time.
