Set in 1967, the film follows the story of three friends, Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates) and Dolly (Agnes O’Casey). From Ballygar, a working-class community on the outskirts of Dublin that marches to its own beat, rooted in traditions of loyalty, faith and togetherness, the three women dream of winning a pilgrimage to the sacred city of Lourdes to taste freedom and escape the routine of domestic life . Just before the trip, their old friend Chrissie (Laura Linney) arrives in Ballygar for her mother’s funeral, after a long exile in the United States. Her return reopens old wounds and the four will have to confront their past, even as they travel in search of a miracle.

The Miracle Club is about to make its debut in theaters nationwide, out on January 4th. Actress Kathy Bates has been working on the project for more than a decade, here are her words:
