It was recently announced that the Mobile World Congress will be held in Barcelona, from February 28 to March 3, 2022, and will be in presence. It is worth noting that the Consumer Electronics Show too (CES 2022), which recently concluded in Las Vegas, was held in attendance. However, several large companies, including Amazon, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Intel, have decided not to attend the physical event, citing safety issues.
They then unveiled all their technological innovations through ads e online presentations. Given the sudden increase in cases due to the variant Omicron around the world, it appears that MWC 2022 will have a similar fate.
However, the GSMA has assured that it will take all necessary precautions to provide a safe environment to MWC 2022 participants.
