It was recently announced that the Mobile World Congress will be held in Barcelona, from February 28 to March 3, 2022, and will be in presence. Apparently the Omicron variant is stopping most of the live events, except for the GSM Association which has decided to move forward with its original plans. Let’s find out more details together.
The Mobile World Congress 2022 will be held in attendance
The GSMA told TechRadar:
MWC’s planning remains dynamic, given the ever-changing global circumstances. We are continuously responding to the latest information available from various officials and adjusting plans accordingly. Our teams are busy preparing for the MWC Barcelona which will take place at the end of February and we invite you to check our website for all the information you need to plan a safe experience.
MWC 2022 is expected from February 28 to March 3 in Barcelona, Spain.
It is worth noting that the Consumer Electronics Show too (CES 2022), which recently concluded in Las Vegas, was held in attendance. However, several large companies, including Amazon, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Intel, have decided not to attend the physical event, citing safety issues.
They then unveiled all their technological innovations through ads e online presentations. Given the sudden increase in cases due to the variant Omicron around the world, it appears that MWC 2022 will have a similar fate.
However, the GSMA has assured that it will take all necessary precautions to provide a safe environment to MWC 2022 participants. On the website, the team outlined several guidelines for participants, including the documents they need in order to participate. If you are thinking of going to Barcelona to attend the event, we recommend that you visit the MWC website to check all the requirements before registering.
