AMD announced the availability of the new ones AMD Radeon PRO W6000X series GPU for Mac Pro. The new GPU product line offers exceptional performance and incredible visual fidelity for demanding professional workloads, including 3D rendering, 8K video compositing, color correction and more.
Mac Pro, the new AMD Radeon Pro W6000X Series GPUs are available
Based on the innovative AMD RDNA 2 architecture, AMD Infinity Cache and other advanced technologies, the new range of workstation graphics cards includes GPUs AMD Radeon PRO W6900X e AMD Radeon PRO W6800X. Mac Pro users also have the option to choose the graphics card AMD Radeon PRO W6800X Duo. This is a configuration a dual GPU which leverages high-speed AMD Infinity Fabric interconnect technology to deliver exceptional levels of compute performance.

The main features of the new GPUs
On the Apple site it is therefore possible to buy the Mac Pro with the new AMD GPUs. Each GPU takes up an entire MPX bay and offers four additional Thunderbolt 3 ports and an onboard HDMI 2.0 port.
- Radeon Pro W6800X with 32GB of GDDR6 memory, which offers up to 512GBps of memory bandwidth. “It offers computing power of up to 16.0 teraflops with single precision or up to 32.0 teraflops at half precision. It supports up to six 4K monitors, three 5K monitors or three Pro Display XDR. ” Apple says. It costs 2760 euros more than the basic configuration.
- Radeon pro W6900X with with 32GB of GDDR6 memory, which offers up to 512GBps of memory bandwidth. “This graphics option is based on AMD’s RDNA2 architecture, offers computing power of up to 22.2 teraflops with single precision or up to 44.4 teraflops at half precision. It supports up to six 4K monitors, three 5K monitors or three Pro Display XDR. ” says Apple on the official website. It costs 6440 euros more than the basic configuration.
- Modulo MPX con AMD Radeon Pro W6800X Duo: It has two W6800X GPUs, each with 32GB of GDDR6 memory to offer up to 512GBps of memory bandwidth. Two W6800X Duo modules can also be bridged to allow communication between four W6800X GPUs. It costs 5290 euros more than the basic configuration.
