The new visionary film written and directed by director Robert Eggers, is ready to debut in theaters next April 21. Distributed by Universal Pictures Italia; a new violent and bloody Viking epic, with a rich actor cast: starring the well-known actor Alexander Skarsgard, flanked by Nicole Kidman; Claes Bang; Anya Taylor-Joy; Gustav Lindh; Ethan Hawke; Björk; e Willem Dafoe.
Inspired by the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet; the film directed by the well-known director of The Lighthouse e The Witchwas co-written with help from the Icelandic poet Sjón Sigurdsson. Here is the overwhelming new Italian official trailer.
The Northman: the vision of revenge
Set on the cold island of Iceland way back in the 10th century, The Northman follows the story of the Viking prince Hamlet (Alexander Skarsgård); seeking revenge after the bloody murder of his father.
The result of a long and careful research, according to what has been circulated from the end of the shooting to today (and as can be seen from the vision of the official trailer), the film it already promises to be bold and ambitious. Built with meticulous attention to even the smallest details, it is described as an amazing vision on Viking folklore, primordial and visceral.
In fact, according to the statements made in the previous days by the actor Alexander Skarsgard protagonist of a long violent and bloody scene:
It was the end of a very long and complex scene of Viking berserkers raiding a Slavic village. The choreography was so difficult, with all these elements, 50 people fighting at the same time… making it look perfect was a real feat.
