Choice of film The Oceans are the real continents as the opening film in competition in the twentieth edition of Authors’ Days; in view of the next edition Venice Film Festival. For the occasion, the official trailer of the debut film directed by has been revealed Thomas Santambrogio. A varied production thanks to Rosamont together with Rai Cinema, in co-production with Cacha Films, produced by Marica Stocchi and Gianluca Arcopinto.
Scheduled on the big screen next August 31stwill be distributed by Fandango. Protagonists young people Alex and Edith, the elderly Milagros and the children Frank and Alain. A simple life, made up of small daily gestures, lived through tales of the past and dreams of the future. Set in San Antonio De Los Baños; time seems to stop. A contemporary and suffered fresco, built thanks to the three narratives united by the specter of separation that hovers in them; only real scourge of Cuban society today. As stated by the director himself Thomas Santambrogio:
The first time I went to Cuba” – explains the director – “I was eight years old. I remember that, as I approached the airport controls, I witnessed a desperate and inseparable embrace – with deep sobs and tears – between a father and a daughter, who evidently had found a way to leave the island and would not made more return. It was a farewell, a separation, poignant and unjust as terribly daily and common in Cuban society, which today is going through the most serious migration crisis in its history
