The Oppo Find X5 Pro review: what a camera!

The press conference of Oppo. The Chinese company has announced 3 new smartphones, all belonging to the Find X5 series: we have Oppo Find X5, Oppo Find X5 Lite and Oppo Find X5 Pro, with whom we spent the last few days, including a trip to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
We tell you how he behaved in this one review.

Design e display

The design is not totally new. Its predecessor, Oppo Find X3 Pro, proposed the same solution for the camera module. We don’t have a clear cut but it’s all soft, with curved lines which, however, do not affect the solidity of the product, equipped with a sturdy but refined ceramic back cover.
A choice, that of Oppo, which rewards the company and the product on the originality front, even if the production process necessary to obtain this body is not one of the simplest: it takes 168 hours and 45 different processes to get to the final result. .

Two colors are provided: black and white. We would not have disdained a different color, a little less classic, but it is difficult to complain about the shades of this Oppo Find X5: both are so well finished and studied that it is impossible to find them boring or banal.

Even the cover included in the package is not discounted. We are not faced with the usual transparent case, destined to become ugly and yellow in a few months. The Chinese company offers an opaque and textured one inside that is comfortable to use and beautiful to look at.
But know that the cover is not the same for the two versions. The black model offers a dark cover which, at first glance, almost seems to simulate the fabric.
In short, there is really nothing banal and obvious about this Oppo Find X5 Pro, not even when it comes to accessories.

Oppo Find X5 Pro display review

Let’s move now to the front where we find the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus which is responsible for protecting the 6.7-inch curved display. The panel is an LTPO OLED, with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz, support for 1 billion colors, and support for HDR10 and 10+. It is truly a pleasure to use: the colors are vivid, natural, also perfect for doing a minimum of photo editing on the fly or for watching movies and TV series.
The brightness is excellent and even in direct sunlight you will have no problems.

Oppo Find X5 Pro camera review

We expected great things on the photographic front e Find X5 Pro did not disappoint us.
On board we have a 50 megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 50 megapixel Sony ultra-wide angle lens and a 13 megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Helping them is the new MariSilicon X, a chip dedicated only to computational photography. But there is more. Oppo, like OnePlus, has decided to ally with Hasselblad, going beyond customizing the interface and clicking noise. Teams from the two companies collaborated on color calibration and introduced a particularly cinematic mode that is called X-Pan. Photos taken in this mode come in an unusual, very squashed format, but the wow effect is guaranteed.

What really surprised us, however, is the main sensor. The images we were able to bring home are rich in detail, very sharp and with natural colors. Compared to Find X3 Pro, artificial intelligence seemed much more discreet and does not overly saturate the colors, guaranteeing a much more realistic look and feel.

The wide angle is also fully promoted, which does not deform the sides of the photo and manages to give the same shots as the main one, without losing quality or falling victim to chromatic aberration.
The telephoto lens, with 2x optical zoom, also helps you to take quality shots home. However, we advise against going further: when you go digital you lose details and sharpness.

They also deserve a special mention i video, means that Oppo has worked a lot on. The movies, which reach 4K and 60 fps, are really good, with an excellent chromatic range, a stabilization that works without intervening with a straight leg and an above average yield in the dark.

Performance and autonomy

Oppo Find X5 Pro performance review

Oppo Find X5 Pro is a top of the range, even in terms of performance. To help him Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, not expandable.
Everything flows quickly, fluidly, without hesitation whatsoeveralso allowing you to play without worrying about any slowdowns or possible overheating.

Also good is the battery that takes you to the end of the day and that, above all, makes use of the SuperVOOC Flash a 80W. In just over 10 minutes you have recharged half the battery. If, on the other hand, you prefer wireless charging, know that it reaches 50W and that you do it from 0 to 100 in about 50 minutes. In both cases you need a compatible charger and yes, the “wired” one (with the cable) is included in the package.

Finally, the operating system is Android 12 with colorOS 12.1. There is great attention to personalization and security and more we have il Multi-Screen Connect. You can practically install the PC Connect software on your PC that allows you to connect your smartphone and computer so you can check notifications, apps and files even without picking up the Oppo Find X5 Pro.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro review: is it worth buying?

Oppo Find X5 Pro hasselblad

Oppo Find X5 Pro is for sale in 1.299,99 €. They are not few but they are perfectly in line with the market and with what is offered by this smartphone. In short, it is a top of the range price for a top of the range, uno of those who are hard to find fault with. Perhaps we would have expected a little more for digital zoom photos but it is a small flaw in a smartphone that has nothing to envy to the competition.
In our opinion, Oppo has really done an excellent job with this Find X5 Pro.
