PlayStation surprised everyone by launching the first ever PC exclusive when it ported Horizon Zero Dawn. Since then, a large number of titles have arrived on the platform, including Days Gone, God of War, and Uncharted Collection. Although new games are unlikely to launch for PC directly at the exitit seems PlayStation wants to deliver more titles for PC gamers.
In a new job posting, Sony is looking for a Director, Product Management – PC Game Experiences.
This role will be asked to take the lead in PlayStation’s PC gaming experiences, including leadership and responsibility to implement and deliver to our players around the world. Shall lead and evolve the PlayStation gaming experience roadmap for all gaming-related experiences, including SDK development; client application experiences and integration of the PlayStation network platform.
The most important part of the job description is the second paragraph, where it is stated that the person will be responsible for “client application experiences as an integration of the PlayStation network platform”. This probably suggests that PlayStation is on the verge of rolling out a launcher per PC.
It should be noted that a job posting last year suggested something similar. At that time, Sony was looking for a UX Design Manager for the management of the “PlayStation off-console experience, with particular attention to mobile devices, PCs / laptops and tablets”. Additionally, PlayStation is actively looking for people to deal with design of game activities such as trophies.
Finally, we remind you to take this information with a grain of salt because PlayStation hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
