The review of Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G: Xiaomi’s super mid-range

We anticipate it: Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is for sale in 449,90 €. This places it in the mid-range of the market but above all above the other members of the Redmi Note 11 series. But is it worth spending a little more for this smartphone? To find out we used it for a few weeks and now we are ready to share our experience with you.

The review of Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G

The Redmi Note family has always been linked to the medium-low range of the market. And with good reason considering that in recent years Xiaomi has managed to bring very valid products to the shelves at more than attractive prices.
This year the Chinese giant has decided to offer 5 models: we start with Redmi Note 11 at € 229.99 to get to Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G
In short, what we have tried in the last month is the flagship of the series, but what does this smartphone offer specifically?

Elegant but without surprises

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G recensione design

The design of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G it is analogous to that of its siblings, with flat profiles, minimized edges and a camera module that protrudes more than 2mm.
So there are no surprises except for the colors. In addition to the already seen Graphite Gray and Star Blue we have the splendid Forest Green which gives truly unique reflections. Xiaomi also opted for a matte finishso you never have to worry about the always annoying fingerprints.

On the right edge we find the volume rocker e the power button, which also integrates a fast and precise fingerprint reader; the left profile is completely free while the upper one houses the 3.5 mm jack, the infrared emitter and one of the speakers, made in collaboration with JBL. We end with the bottom side where we find the SIM slot, the USB-C input and the second speaker.

We also report the presence of IP53 certificationthe glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the display and two very welcome gifts: the pre-applied film and the transparent case.

Il display a 120 Hz

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G recensione display

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G if you present with a 6.67 ″ SuperAMOLED screen, associated – predictably – with truly generation dimensions. The polliciaggio abounded however, combined with the FullHD + resolutionmakes sure you have all the space you need, whether it’s for watching a movie or for emailing and browsing.

You can also rely on a 120 Hz refresh rate, for an even smoother user experience, and on a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Not missing then support for HDR10 while the always-on display is absent.

The overall yield is really good, with absolute blacks, bright colors and good visibility in direct light than usual. You can also adapt the panel to your needs by choosing one of the 3 available color profiles and the color temperature or by activating the reading mode to switch to warmer shades and activate, if desired, the paper texture.

Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G review: performance

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G profile review

Under the hood we find the Mediatek Dimensity 920 processor at 6 nanometers, flanked by the GPU Small G68da 6 o 8 GB in RAM and from 128 GB of memory. This combination of elements allows Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G to hold up any type of businessfrom messaging to gaming, complete with Turbo mode which helps you to really get the most out of this terminal.
Then there are no overheating problems, thanks to cooling system with vapor chamber which has characterized Xiaomi’s devices for some time now.

Also on the connectivity front, the equipment is more than complete. We have 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetto 5.2, NFC and obviously GPS.

On the other hand, the software disappoints a bit. Don’t get us wrong: the MIUI 12.5 behaves great and brings with it a wealth of features, from video tools to the second space to separate work from private life. What though made us turn up our noses is the presence of Android 11, with the security patches stopped in January. We would have expected Android 12 and faster distribution of the latest patches.
That said, it is clear that the presence of Android 11 does not undermine the performance of a device that performs really well.

Charging at 120W

Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G gives us a nice surprise on the autonomy front. Or rather, on the charging front. The 4,500 mAh battery takes us to the end of the day without great difficulty with consumption that is really well optimized. But when you run dry you can rely on ultra-fast charging at 120W that gets you back on track in just 15 minutes.

The 108 megapixel camera

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G camera review

Xiaomi’s smartphone boasts 3 rear sensors: the main 108-megapixel, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 2-megapixel macro.
We are not of course faced with a cameraphone but the primary sensor performs well during the day, with sharp photos, fairly balanced colors and fast focusing. We lose a little bit during the day as well as using the other sensors, with the macro that is of little use and the ultra-wide angle that loses detail but on the other hand manages to return more natural colors.

Well then the front camera as well as the videos, which can also count on a decent stabilization.

The review of Redmi Note 11 Pro +: conclusions

Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G is undoubtedly a great mid-range smartphonecapable of meeting the needs of most users thanks to an excellent build quality, a good display, excellent performance and a convincing main sensor.
Of course, all this is also done by the Pro that costs less. So why aim for this model? Well, for thea ricarica a 120 W. If for you to recharge the device in a very short time is a crucial element, then this is the Redmi for you.
