Our review of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2
Last year the OnePlus Buds Pro had undoubtedly conquered us and it seemed difficult to do better. With the experience, the use of new technologies and the collaboration with Dynaudioa renowned Danish company specializing in audio devices, OnePlus may have created another little gem for music lovers.
But let’s start in order.
Design
Let’s start by saying that, in terms of design, not much has changed. OnePlus still opts for a clamshell case that differs from the others. It is characterized by one matte style, minimalist and pleasant to the touch which is also repeated in the headphones. In fact, these have a satin upper part of the same color as the case (black or green) while the stem is shiny metallic.
Here are the controls of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, once again we do not find the touch controls but via “pinch”. We will have to then lightly squeeze the stem with your fingers to operate the controls. With one click we will be able to pause or start the music, double click to go to the next track and so on. Obviously the commands can be set via the app (which we will see later).
In the case we find on the back theType C input for charging while the bluetooth button is inside the case. Included in the package we also find the USB-Type C charging cable and a series of rubber pads to adapt the headphones to your ears.
Technology
The most important innovations concern the technology used inside to give us excellent audio quality. In fact, this model makes it possible to exploit the potential of Google’s spatial audio technology. Spatial audio allows for formats and platforms that support it to rehearse a great 360° audio experience on Android 13 (keep an eye on the possibilities of your smartphone). This guarantees an unprecedented degree of immersion!
OnePlus True Wireless Buds Pro 2 also use dual drivers and 11 mm ed 6 mm and they also improve the active noise cancellation. From 40db of the previous model to 48dB. Noise cancellation can be managed automatically, i.e. able to adapt to the noise of the surrounding environment.
In terms of autonomy, the headphones are equipped with a 60mAh battery while the case has 520mAh. This translates to about 22 hours of continuous use (with the case) which can go up if you decide to limit the noise cancellation
Our test of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 true wireless
We tested the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 for this review for about 2 weeks during which they replaced our regular True Wireless.
From an aesthetic point of view, there is nothing to say. OnePlus once again maintains the quality standard to which we have become accustomed. The scarce novelties in aesthetic terms demonstrate how much the style already worked in the previous model and made it possible focus more on the technology inside. While we were initially skeptical of the clamshell opening, we got used to it over time.
The real magic happens inside, and the company’s high-quality audio is vastly improved by partnering with Dynaudio. Their experience has brought truly excellent quality into the palm of our hands. The spatial audio then, was the icing on the cake.
Spatial audio is still a new technology that allows you to listen to music and movies with three-dimensional audio. Not only therefore to the right and left, but also in front, behind, obliquely with respect to our ears. Technology is in fact able to track the position of our head and adapt if we turn or move our face. This returns an exceptional degree of immersion that will catapult you into the film you are watching or will make you try amusic listening experience, truly immersive.

Not just HeyMelody
Although the support with theHeyMelody application is still present, with Android 13 devices, much better with the new OnePlus 11 5G, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 have new functions accessible directly from the audio settings. Among these, in addition to the classic management of noise cancellation or customization of commands, we have the possibility of obtaining a studio-quality sound by customizing it according to the personal structure of our ear canal and the characteristics of our hearing. By answering a series of questions about sound frequencies, we will be able to create the perfect audio for us.
Here we can also handle the already mentioned technology of the Spatial Audio for fully enjoy 3D audio in the ways we prefer or by turning it off entirely. We remind you that the Spatial Audio function is only available for devices with Android 13 (sorry iPhone!).
The review in brief of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2
It seemed impossible to improve the OnePlus Buds Pro but they have succeeded. New audio improvements, Dynaudio’s support for quality and Google’s support for Spatial Audio, have made these little headphones a jewel of technology with which to enjoy many hours of music of the best quality and from all directions.
