For the first time in Italy the metaverse becomes the protagonist of a museum exhibition with The Sandbox. Thanks to the exhibition Dart 2121. NFT Art of the Future, fans will be able to experience the virtual worlds of today and tomorrow. Let’s find out all the details together!
The Sandbox – The protagonist at the Museum
The Sandbox is one of the leading decentralized virtual gaming worlds. It is the protagonist in the exhibition DART 2121. NFT Art of the Future, organized by DART | Dynamic Art Museum at the Museo della Permanente in Milan. Thanks to these initiates, for the first time in Italy a museum exhibition focuses on a digital art exhibition on the metaverse.
The metaverse
The metaverse is that set of virtual worlds that will constitute the social media of the future through which it will be possible to experience artistic performances, entertainment experiences, games and much more. In short, a real space in which artists can express themselves freely and trade their works of art without intermediation.
He main sponsor
The Sandbox, main sponsor of the exhibition, is a world built on virtual lands where users can create, play and monetize their interactions.
This universe is based on blockchain technology and every digital object is an NFT. The latter can be created and sold thanks to a proprietary currency: Sand.
The opportunities are endless, such as those offered by artists, for example. In particular, the latter can already try their hand at tools such as VoxEdit and GameMaker for the creation of works of art and interactive performances to be monetized.
And then again
Together with The Sandbox, the exhibition includes Decentraland (with the Vegas City Arts Village project) and Spatial (a container of spaces used for the display and use of digital creations). Arium then allows artists and curators to create interactive exhibition experiences and connect with their communities in a shared social space. In addition to the aforementioned, the metaverses Musae and Matrix will also be present, as well as DART which will present its DART Dynamic Metaverse, within which the current exhibitions in the physical spaces of the museum and two exclusive special exhibitions will be visible.
The exhibition
On display, in addition to an exhibition of works by twenty NFT artists, there will also be a large selection of Collectibles. That is digital creations made mainly through Artificial Intelligence algorithms. Finally, in a stimulating intersection between real and virtual, the .artmirable platform will offer the possibility of viewing the NFT of the digital image of the now very famous work by Banksy The Flower Thrower, of which both the real original triptych and the its digital image.
The date
Dart 2121. NFT Art of the Future is scheduled from March 30 to May 24, 2022.
