The Sandbox: the metaverse arrives at the Museo della Permanente in Milan

Visitors to the Museo della Permanente in Milan will be able to immerse themselves in the metaverse of The Sandbox, in a world that blends art, sociability, games and entertainment.

The Sandbox arrives as a museum installation in Milan

In the frame of the exhibition Dart 2121. NFT Art of the Future at the Museo della Permanente in Milan, visitors have the opportunity to set foot in the metaverse The Sandbox. This is the first initiative in Italy that blends museum and metaverse art, thanks to the exhibition organized by ART | Dynamic Art Museum, scheduled from March 30 (tomorrow) to May 24, 2022. It will thus be possible to experience firsthand the experience of the metaverse, which is so much talked about, or that set of virtual worlds that are redesigning the concept of social average. A vast and multipurpose virtual world, combining digital art, entertainment, games and more.

“The Sandbox is a world built on virtual lands where users can create, play and monetize their interactions within the various experiences offered” reads the official description of the project. Not only a space for the users, therefore, but also an opportunity for the artists. In the metaverse in question, every digital object is an NFT that can be created and sold using a proprietary currency, called Sand. All that remains is to participate in the exhibition to experience it firsthand and “touch” the potential of a future that is increasingly preparing to become present.

The NFT Art of the Future exhibition will also host other virtual worlds and activities such as:

  • Decentraland, with the special Vegas City Arts Village project. The latter is a real commercial district with 85 self-managed galleries with a focus on digital art.
  • Spatial, a container of spaces used for the display and use of digital creations in the creative cultural sphere. It uses a video scanner capable of faithfully reproducing the user’s human figure.
  • Arium, a virtual space that favors the interaction between artists, public and curators.

There will also be the metaverses of Musae and Matrix as well as DART Dynamic Metaverse, owned by the same organization of the exhibition. Appointment in Milan then from March 30 to May 24.
