The Sandbox: the metaverse becomes more inclusive with the WoW Foundation

The Sandbox: il metaverso diventa più inclusivo con la WoW Foundation thumbnail

Fortunately, even in the metaverse field, there is more and more attention to urgent issues such as inclusivity. The Sandbox, one of the most promising decentralized virtual gaming worlds, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with World of Women (WoW), a community created to celebrate inclusivity and equal opportunities in the Non Fungible Token (NFT) landscape. The collaboration began with a $ 25 million donation to the WoW Foundation, which is intended to attract more female figures and a variety of sensibilities and expressions of thought into the nascent metaverse.

World of Women and The Sandbox will work together to improve the metaverse and encourage greater female participation. The strategies that will be put in place will be: ennobling the metaverse with the support of artists and financing projects, educating new users, giving greater visibility to women’s causes and returning funds through charity. Among other initiatives, there will also be:

  • The World of Women Avatars: 10,000 avatars will be made available during the month of March corresponding to the opening of Alpha 2 of The Sandbox.
  • The WoW Museum: a museum will be built on a Land where the WoW Foundation initiatives will be presented and where artists will find support and opportunities for visibility
  • WoW University: in this space open to all on The Sandbox there will be online courses on how to enter the Web3 and improve your skills.
  • La WoW Academy: here female artists will be able to find opportunities for mentorship, funding and help, through access to the network built by The Sandbox and World of Women.

This is the comment of Yam Karkai, co-founder and artist of World of Women:

We are thrilled to partner with The Sandbox. Seeing Aurora from World of Women become the symbol of Alpha 2 represents a milestone in our growth and the emblem of our mission in the metaverse. With a $ 1 million grant, we will transform all 10,000 NFTs in the collection into Voxel so that our community can join us in the metaverse. In addition, we will make the WoW Museum a symbol of exalting diversity in the metaverse through numerous activities. We have big plans and can’t wait to make them happen with the community in The Sandbox.

On the same wavelength Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox:

This partnership underscores our long-term intention to invest in shaping a diverse and inclusive space for women to thrive on the Web3 within our metaverse. By facilitating the funding of women’s projects, we hope these programs will help create a generation of women who are protagonists in building the new virtual world.
