Apple TV+ has added a new series to its catalog: The Buccaneers. The series will be available on the platform starting November 8th with the first 3 episodes, which will be followed by the release of weekly episodes every Wednesday, until December 13th. The release of the trailer offers a preview of some scenes. In the trailer, in fact, the protagonists of the story are introduced and the types of situations they may find themselves in as they search for love and their place in the world. The Buccaneers is a series created by Katherine Jakeways and is inspired by the novel of the same name, which remained, however unfinished, by the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Edith Wharton. The director is BAFTA Award winner Susanna White. Jakeways and White also serve as executive producers alongside BAFTA Award nominee Beth Willis.

The Buccaneers: new series, old stories, let’s see the trailer

It is a musical dramedy. In it we will be able to see theEnglish aristocracy of the 1870s accompanied by a contemporary soundtrack produced by Stella Mozgawa (member of the band Warpaint) and full of songs from today’s best female performers. In the background of the trailer we can already listen to Olivia Rodrigo’s hit All-american bitch and Miya Folick’s new single What We Wanna. It’s a solution already adopted by some costume series seen in recent years. The paradigm is always the same: rich girls and powerful men. The usual secrets, hidden by new rounds of money. It’s about a group of young American girls who are sent from America so as to secure titles and husbands. They are a group of ambitious, yet fun-loving girls who start one Anglo-American cultural clashso the new generation will look with contempt on centuries of tradition.

The cast of the series is made up of: Kristine Frøsethin the role of Nan St. George, Alisha Boo as Conchita Closson, the Critics Choice Award nominee Josie Totah who will play Mabel Elmsworth, Aubri Ibrag as Lizzy Elmsworth, Imogen Waterhouse as Jinny St. George and Mia Threapleton in the role of Honoria Marable. They complete the cast Josh Dylan as Lord Richard Marable, Guy Remmers as Theo, Duke of Tintagel, Matthew Broome as Guy Thwarte and Barney Fishwick who will play Lord James Seadown. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by The Forge Entertainment.
