Today, Friday 26 January, the tram Trolleys “Milano 1928“, an icon of the city for almost a century, becomes part of the collections of National Museum of Science and Technology. The tram, serial number 1565, will be exhibited in Railway Pavilion of the Museum together with other symbolic means of urban transport and interurban, like theAll from the horse and the Gamba de Legn.

Visitors to the Museum will be able to board the tram and, through specially curated content, they will be able to explore the transformation of Milan over the years. You will be able to see the evolution of the livery, the interiors, the tickets (from perforated coins to paper ones, up to modern digital systems).

The tram Milano 1928 It is part of the 1500 series, known as “Trolleys“, and represent the last act of the transport revolution in Milan in the 1920s. These trams can transport up to one hundred passengers without additional carriagesnavigating easily through the narrow streets of the center and reaching the new suburbs.

The tram Trolleysin addition to being an icon in Milan, has traveled all over the world, circulating on the streets of Bruxelles e Melbourne. Today, in addition to Milan (with 125 vehicles), it continues its journey through the streets of San Francisco and is exhibited in Sydney tram museum.
