Netflix shows the teaser of The Witcher Blood Origin, a spinoff of the series lately at the center of criticism
It is a turbulent period to say the least that the Witcher franchise is facing, which a few days ago lost its great protagonist: Henry Cavill. The actor will not return as Geralt of Rivia, being replaced by Liam Hemsworth, but the choice does not convince the fans, who are clamoring for the return of Cavill. In the meantime, however, the franchise goes on and waiting for the third season of the series it will soon be released spinoff Blood Origin, which is shown with a new teaser trailer.

The clip published by Netflix through its social channels shows new images of the series set well 1.200 years before the events narrated in the mother series. At the center of the spinoff is the narration of the creation of the first Witcher and the Conjunction of the Spheres, with the consequent fusion of the various worlds of Men, Elves and Monsters.
In the cast in the series we find Michelle Yeoh, previously seen in Star Trek: Discovery, who plays Scian, a nomadic elf looking for an ancient stolen blade. Alongside her, there are many celebrities from television, from Laurence O’Fuarain to Mirren Mack, to Lenny Henry, Jacob Collins-Levy, Lizzie Annis, Huw novelli and Francesca Mills.
The appointment, therefore, with The Witcher Blood Origin goes to 25th December, when the first season of this highly anticipated spinoff will be released on Netflix. However, there is still no official date for the release of the third season of The Witcher, the last with Henry Cavill in the role of the protagonist. As revealed as part of the TUDUM event, filming is over and only post-production work is missing: the series should be released in the summer of 2023, but it takes time to know the exact date.
In the meantime, here’s the Blood Origin teaser trailer shown by Netflix:
