TikTok announced new updates and features in the policy, which allow you to quickly and effectively intervene in case of violations in the Community Guidelines.
The TikTok policy update
TikTok has updated the rules of the policy for accounts, defining the new methods of intervention in the event of repeated violation of the rules, removing profiles deemed dangerous more efficiently and quickly, but still evaluating what to do in the event of an involuntary violation.
According to a recent analysis, in fact, according to the platform almost the 90% of creators who break the rules do so using the same feature over and over again. Beyond the 75%however, violates rules in the same policy category.
The new system, therefore, aims to restore order: the infringement is recorded on the user’s account at the exact moment the content is removed. When you reach a maximum limit of violations your account is permanently removed.
As for the maximum limit, the latter is established on the basis of the potential damage that the violation can cause to other members of the community. However, for the most serious violations (promotion of violence, material relating to child abuse, actual violence or torture), the permaban is implemented immediately.
New features are coming
New features will also be introduced in the coming weeks Security Center and in-app. Specifically, users will find a section dedicated to the status of the account to view their profile and any reports.
This way not only creators have a record on which to check the violations, but above all they have a means to be able to possibly appeal to request the elimination of the penalty.
Currently TikTok is also testing a new function aimed at promoting greater transparency in moderation practices. For example, users will be able to receive in the section “For you” of information regarding their videos flagged as inappropriate content, allowing them to appeal.
