The director’s masterclass is scheduled for October 11th, on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition The World of Tim Burton, which can be visited at the Turin Cinema Museum until April
In Turin the engines are warming up for the opening of the great exhibition The world of Tim Burton, which will see the director honored with the Stella della Mole award. The inauguration will be preceded by a masterclass on 11 October at 6.30 pm at the National Cinema Museum, hosted by Piera Detassis. Pre-sales for the masterclass open on September 27th at 10am.
The Stella della Mole Award is an important recognition for the visionary and innovative contribution of the director with an inimitable style in the history of cinema. The evening will then continue at the Cinema Massimo where at 8.30pm Tim Burton will meet the public and introduce one of his most famous films, a surprise title chosen directly by the director. The exhibition The World of Tim Burton is conceived and co-curated by Jenny He in collaboration with Tim Burton and adapted by Domenico De Gaetano for the National Cinema Museum. For the first time in Italy, the exhibition will be held at the Mole Antonelliana e it will be open to the public until 7 April 2024. The exhibition is a journey into the visionary universe and creativity of Tim Burton and its main core focuses on the director’s personal archive, showing an incredible variety of his creative production. Not only therefore valuable documents but also drawings and sketches with the recurring themes and visual motifs from which his characters that characterize his cinematic worlds came to life.
Once again the National Cinema Museum pays homage to a great internationally renowned artist who, with his great creativity and mastery, gave life to universal films, appreciated by everyone, fans and non-fans alike. For over 30 years he has won us over with his stories, from Beetlejuice and Batman to the recent great success of Wednesday, the second most watched English-language Netflix series ever.
