Tombi: here’s the trailer for another great comeback!

Not only Gex: the “snack buddy” is also back with an unexpected trailer from Limited Run Games, namely the hybrid platformer/RPG Tombi!

Today, after the announcement of Gex Trilogy, for fans of platformers of the 90s is a field day: we have a trailer also for Kill!, in this case announced on its own (although there is a sequel, Tombi! 2). The game was first released on PlayStation on Christmas Day in Japan in 1997, followed by July 16 in the United States and August 28 in the dear Old Continent. The director of the original game, as well as producer and designer, returns together with his creature: Limited Run Games has in fact joined forces with Tokuro Fujiwara to bring the title to modern platforms. As well as Castlevania Advance Collection, the aforementioned Gex Trilogy and a remake of Clock Tower, this title will also use the Carbon Engine.

Beyond the trailer: what to know about Tombi! (yes, with an exclamation point!)

In its new edition, Tombi! will include an unreleased soundtrack from Harumi Fujita: We don’t know what this means for the iconic original soundtrack. Likewise, we don’t have an exit window, apart from the welcome confirmation of the existence of the title. What we can confirm, however, is that it is one of the first platformers in “2½D” in the manner of Klonoa. In the adventure we will take on the role (as a savage) of the eponymous protagonist (called Tomba outside Europe) and fight an evil pig sorcerer. The presence of quests to complete makes the title a hybrid of platformer and RPG, with all the backtracking that comes with it. The planned platforms are PS5, PS4 and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch e Steam.
