Elon Muskthe visionary founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has long had a new goal: TruthGPT. In fact, the tycoon wants to create an artificial intelligence that, as the name suggests, is always able to tell the truth, without manipulation or distortion.
According to Musk, which is not new to apocalyptic statements able to make their own interestscould be the solution to “avoid the destruction of humanity”.
What we know about Elon Musk’s TruthGPT
Today’s news is that, according to several insiders, Musk would have partnered with Oraclethe IT giant, to leverage its servers for the early stages of TruthGPT development.
This would be a temporary solution only, useful for understanding how AI behaves when dealing with a large amount of data. Subsequently, Musk will rely on his company X.AIspecialized in the creation of artificial intelligences and which counts among its members Igor Babuschkinformer DeepMind AI researcher.
Indeed, we already know that X.AI purchased 10,000 NVIDIA GPUs, which will be dedicated exclusively to TruthGPT. And that’s just the beginning: the company plans to quintuple its efforts and boost AI with 50,000 graphics cards.
Ambitious project or madness?
TruthGPT competes directly with other LLM-based generative AIs (Large-Scale Language Models) such as ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Google Bard. However, theIts distinctive feature would be to always provide the user with truthful and reliable answersbased on authoritative and, indeed, verified sources.

One of the great limitations of current AIs, including the very popular ChatGPT with GPT-4, is precisely the reliability of their sources. The chatbot often reports inaccurate or completely incorrect information. Once, for an episode of our column called Dentro la Canzone, we asked him to provide us with information and curiosities about the song Disperato Erotico Stomp by Lucio Dalla, receiving a delirious answer: “it’s a song written and sung by Cristiano Malgioglio”, he had called ChatGPT.
It is currently unknown when TruthGPT will be available to the public, nor what its actual capabilities will be. What is certain is that Elon Musk has an ambitious and revolutionary project in mind and that his apocalyptic utterances are weighted at the right point to create hype around the project.
