When Tuomas Katainen took his 2013 Tesla Model S to a dealership to have an error code checked, was shocked to learn that the car required battery replacement. A cost for Katainen too high, equal to 20 thousand euros.
Used cars of its model year cost approx 40 thousand euros with functioning batteries, but Katainen had no interest in recovering the value. Indeed, to vent his anger, he asked for help to the Finnish YouTube channel Pommijätkät specialized in blowing things up.
The Youtubers then wrapped his car in 30 kilograms of dynamite, apparently the total needed to destroy a premium midsize sedan, and let him do the honors without asking questions like “are there any non-explosive solutions to this problem? “ To give a touch of taste, Katainen has also included a cardboard mannequin depicting Elon Musk, which is called in the video captions Elon Mask. We do not believe it is a typo, but only a way to protect one’s back in the event of a complaint from the American mogul.
Tuomas Katainen solved the faulty battery problem of his Tesla Model S in a second
Katainen removed some parts that still had value, like the original electric motor, and others that he wasn’t sure he’d blow up, like the now useless original battery pack. But it left most of the car intact, enough for the final catharsis. All it took was a push of a button (and hours of preparation by a team of professional Finnish-language YouTube breakers) to turn his Model S into a thousand little bits.
The video has gone viral, but now it is necessary to understand if Tesla will remain indifferent or if, in the worst case scenario, bring a lawsuit against Katainen for image damage. In this hypothetical case, between court costs and so on, the cost that the former owner of the Tesla Model S should bear will certainly be much higher battery change. But the video is really well done …
