The anticipation grows for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the new chapter in the famous saga of assassins. The video game, whose release is scheduled for 2023, will take us to Baghdad in 861 AD, about 20 years before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, in the role Basem Ibn Ishaqone of the characters of Valhalla, the last game of the franchise released in 2020.
Unlike the previous chapters, which required hundreds of hours of play to be finished, the next Assassin’s Creed should be more compact. To reveal it is directly Stephane Boudon, creative director of the title. Interviewed by GamesRadar, Boudon said:
“Our fans have begun to feel the desire for a character-driven story, centered on the foundational pillars of early AC, on a more intimate scale. It is a need that we also share with us, as developers, and this was the starting point of the project”.
What can we expect from Assassin’s Creed Mirage
From Boudon’s words we can therefore expect a different Assassin’s Creed, certainly more intimateIt is probably less dispersive. Also Ubisoft confirmed that, compared to Odyssey and Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a more linear game and more focused on the stealth approach, parkour and stealth assassinations. In short, it would be a real return to origins (not Origins).
From a narrative point of view, as mentioned, we will follow the story of a young Basim Ibn Ishaq, twenty years before his role in Valhalla. In the official trailer released in September we see Basim stealing on the street and, caught in the act, is saved by an Assassin who introduces him to the Order. His mentor is Roshan, voiced by Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse, The Punisher, Star Trek Beyond).
The top view is also back thanks to ours faithful eagle, with archers, however, who could target her and risk shooting her down. Players will therefore have to make good use of this possibility, perhaps by eliminating the archers before any other enemy. Basim will also slow down timetarget multiple opponents and exploit buildings and structures they favor it parkour. In short, the level design was designed precisely to encourage leaps, jumps and stunts. There are also news regarding assassinations, with a focus on efficiency and the use of new tools and even some traps. For further information, we refer you to our article dedicated to the game.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will arrive at an unspecified moment in the course of 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One.
