Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR was also presented on the Ubisoft Forward stage that went live last night with a trailer: let’s find out all the details together in this dedicated article
We are in the period that, until recently, would have been called “of E3” and, although the conference has been officially canceled, all the big companies are holding single events to show all the news coming in the short term. Sony, Microsoft, Capcom and last night even Ubisoft are showing off months and months of work in events that perhaps last too little to fully realize the magnitude of resources that are used. And just last night the Ubisoft Forward was held where, in addition to new details on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the first VR project of the franchise has been officially announced.
Let’s move on to Virtual Reality: let’s see the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR!
Led by Ubisoft Red Storm and due out in 2023, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is the first AAA Virtual Reality title in the franchise that allows gamers to embody the legendary master assassins and physically perform the iconic actions in a full game. The title will be available on the Meta Quest platform, which includes Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro. We will be able to play iconic characters such as Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Kassandra in Ancient Greece and Connor in Colonial America in a completely new story and built from the ground up for virtual reality.
The synopsis disclosed by Ubisoft via press release is as follows:
Abstergo Industries has found a way to recover powerful lost artifacts that can profile anyone through their lifetime memories, then use those profiles to manipulate their beliefs. You will have to sabotage Abstergo’s plan, discovering all the new chapters of each Assassin’s story.
We will therefore be able to immerse ourselves in the world of Assassin’s Creed, using real movements to fight with the hidden blade, throw the ax and swing the bow against a good variety of enemies. We will therefore have to move stealthily, hiding in the environment or mingling with civilians. Different cities are available, from Venice to Athens to colonial Boston: in each environment it is possible to navigate 360 degrees, climb and parkour freely.
